The Most Distinguished TAU OMEGA MU FRATERNITY (TΩM) was founded by a group of 25 students led by Brods Ricardo A. Gutierrez and Antonio D. Kalaw, Jr. in the University of the Philippines College in Manila (UPCM) on 11 October 1972. Soon after, the fledgling fraternity founded their female counterpart called the Ladies’ Corps, which was finally succeeded by the present-day Ladies’ Circle.
TΩM’s founding principles focused on establishing a brotherhood that advocated for Academic Excellence, Service, Equal Opportunities and Discipline (BASED).
